I have Been playing with the X DevApi on MySQL 8. It’s really cool idea and I think I will need to write up about it in the near future. How To Use Zend Tool

Before I continue this series I thought I would discuss Zend Tool. This came about when Matthew Setter who has an excellent blog on Zend Framework at Master Zend Framework tweeted me after I wrote ‘Hello World Part 1’ and asked if I ever use the Zend Tool.

Turn Wordpress Revisions Off

With Wordpress 3.9 we got post revisions, which looks like can be a good thing if you have many contributors writing the same articles but with just me and me alone I noticed that as I wrote and edited my articles which can take up to a week deepening on the subject, my post revisions were adding up to 30+.

Building A Zend Framework 2 Application – Hello World Part 3

Building A Zend Framework 2 Application - Installing Zend Framework

The first part of this tutorial is to install the Zend Framework library. For this tutorial I will be using PHP 5.5, but you could use PHP 5.4 but you should not be using anything less as version 5.3 has entered it’s end of life now. I am also using an Ubuntu Server 14.04 on a virtual machine (VM), the install is a minimum install with only a SSH server installed so I can reach it via putty, or a terminal window.

In their wisdom the json extension has been removed from the PHP 5.5 so to fix this we will have to install it. So as we are talking about Mcrypt as well lets do this all at once.
